Suresh Upadhyay, the VHP’s regional minister, has refuted the allegations, stating that the flags were not put up by the organisation but by local residents. He has requested that the removal process be halted. ## BJP Files Complaint with Election Commission
Upadhyay further stated that the VHP has not used saffron flags to benefit any political party. He criticised certain political parties for attempting to give a political colour to every saffron flag. Mangal Singh Saini, the additional election advocate for the Congress candidate, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, stated that the BJP had previously filed a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the Congress candidate’s campaign slogan, “Hare ka Sahara, Baba Shyam Hamara,” attempting to give it a political spin.
## “Saffron Flags Benefitting a Specific Party” Saffron flags were observed in various areas, including Ajmeri Gate, Kishanpol Bazaar, Chandpol Bazaar, Chhoti Chaupad, Badi Chaupad, Johri Bazaar, and Bapu Bazaar. On 13th April, Mangal Singh Saini filed a complaint with the Election Commission, citing a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. On 14th April, Suman Panwar, the in-charge of the Model Code of Conduct cell, wrote a letter to the Assistant Returning Officer of Kishanpol. Based on this letter, the corporation initiated the process of removing the saffron flags.
