
<p><strong>Jaipur: </strong>Hotel operators in Jaipur have accused Oyo Rooms, an online hotel booking company, of making fraudulent bookings at their hotels. By creating these fake bookings, Oyo inflated its earnings, but this has resulted in hotels facing tax recovery, penalties, and interest charges amounting to crores of rupees from the GST department.</p>



<p>They are running from pillar to post dealing with the department. One hotel has filed an FIR against Oyo company director Ritesh Agarwal at Adarshnagar police station. Hussain Khan, President of the Hotel Federation of Rajasthan, described this unusual case as a growing problem for the hotel industry. Meanwhile, Sandeep Gogia, the convenor, stated that 100 hotels have received GST notices.</p>



<p>In Jodhpur too, in the last six months, more than 10 hotel operators have received notices from SGST and CGST. It was revealed that large-scale fraud occurred in the name of booking and then cancelling hotel rooms. One hotel even received a notice for approximately ₹1 crore. Hotels are booked online and then immediately cancelled. A GST charge is levied for this, which the hotel operators have to bear.</p>

<p>Madan Jain, director of Samskara Resort, stated that Oyo showed bookings totalling ₹22.51 crore at their resort. Because of this, the GST department has demanded payment of ₹2.66 crore. Notably, Oyo showed bookings at Samskara even in 2016, when the hotel did not even exist.</p>

<p>He also highlighted the progress of rural India over the past decade. The PM mentioned that over 200,000 Gram Panchayats have been connected to the internet and more than 550,000 Common Service Centres have been established. Digitisation of Panchayats is facilitating easier access to documents like birth and death certificates. He further noted that alongside the new Parliament building, 30,000 new Panchayat buildings have been constructed. The government has provided over ₹200 billion to Panchayats in the last 10 years to accelerate development in rural areas.</p>

<p><strong>Pahalgam Terrorist Attack:</strong> Neeraj Udhawani (33), a Jaipur resident, who was martyred in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was given a final farewell at Mokshdham in Jhalana, Jaipur, on Thursday. As soon as the pyre was lit, a silence of anger and pain fell upon everyone present. Neeraj&#8217;s elder brother, Kishor Udhawani, performed the last rites.</p>



<p>His wife, Ayushi, mother, Jyoti, and relatives stood near the pyre, weeping and wailing. Ayushi stood with folded hands near the pyre, repeatedly looking towards her husband and saying, &#8220;Neeraj&#8230; why did you leave me alone?&#8221;</p>

Travel agent Mahendra Singh stated that his company, which holds a franchise for a major national company, had booked three large Kashmir tours from Indore this month. Two groups from Nagpur, comprising 10 and 16 members respectively, have cancelled their packages.</p>



<p>Akshay Goyal cancelled a Kashmir tour package for 15 people. Tourists from Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior also cancelled their packages.</p>

<p><strong>Pahalgam Terror Attack:</strong> Sumit Sharma, a hotelier from Mhow near Indore in Madhya Pradesh , had left the very spot where terrorists shot tourists after asking their names in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, just 15 minutes earlier. Sharma, along with his family, had gone to Srinagar for a three-day trip.</p>



<p>Recounting his experience, he said that as they were descending, they heard gunshots from above. A stampede ensued, and upon asking what had happened, people fleeing for their lives informed him of a terrorist attack. Sharma initially thought they were joking, but soon, army movement began around the site. Within a short time, the CRPF cordoned off the area and asked all tourists staying in hotels to evacuate.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Initially, Fewer Casualties Reported</h2>



<p>Sharma stated that initially, it was reported that four or five people were injured. Later, reports indicated 20 to 25 injured. Search operations continued throughout the night, with CRPF personnel and the army present everywhere. Tourists were being evacuated, with those staying in Pahalgam being moved out in convoys. Sharma mentioned that he had gone to Kashmir with his wife and two children three days prior, with their return tickets booked for 25 April. He has been receiving calls from his family in Mhow.</p>

<p><strong>Pahalgam Attack:</strong> A major terrorist attack occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The attack resulted in the death of 28 people. Following the Pahalgam incident, a CCS meeting was held at PM Modi&#8217;s residence. After this meeting, the Ministry of External Affairs held a press conference. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that India is withdrawing from the Indus Waters Treaty and the Pakistan High Commission in India is being closed. All Pakistanis present in India have been asked to leave the country within the next 48 hours.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Information Provided About the Attack</h2>



<p>Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, in a press conference, stated that a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) was held under the chairmanship of PM Modi. The CCS was briefed in detail about the terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam on Tuesday. The CCS strongly condemned the attack and expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.</p>



<p>Understanding the gravity of this terrorist attack, the CCS took the following decisions:</p>



<p>1. The 1960 Indus Waters Treaty will be suspended with immediate effect until Pakistan reliably and irrevocably abandons its support for cross-border terrorism.</p>



<p>2. The Integrated Check Post Attari will be closed with immediate effect. Those who have crossed the border with valid approvals can return via that route before May 1, 2025.</p>



<p>3. Pakistani citizens will not be permitted to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) visa. Any SVES visas issued to Pakistani citizens in the past will be considered cancelled. Any Pakistani citizen present in India under an SVES visa has 48 hours to leave the country.</p>



<p>4. The Defence/Military, Naval and Air Advisors in the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi are declared Persona Non Grata. They have one week to leave India. India will be withdrawing its own Defence/Navy/Air Advisors from the High Commission in Islamabad. These positions in the respective High Commissions will be considered abolished. Five support staff of the service advisors from both High Commissions will also be withdrawn.</p>



<p>5. The total number of High Commission staff will be reduced from the current 55 to 30, to be achieved through further reductions by May 1, 2025.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">All-Party Meeting to be Held on Thursday</h2>



<p>Following the Pahalgam attack, the central government has decided to call an all-party meeting on Thursday, chaired by PM Modi. This meeting will be held in the Parliament Annex.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Response from Pakistan</h2>



<p>Following the Pahalgam attack and India&#8217;s first strike against Pakistan, former Pakistani Minister Chaudhry Fawad responded. Regarding the holding of the Indus Waters Treaty, he stated that India cannot do so under international law.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Instructions to Maintain Vigilance</h2>



<p>The CCS reviewed the overall security situation and instructed all forces to maintain high alert. A resolution was taken to bring the perpetrators of this attack to justice and hold their sponsors accountable. Similar to the recent extradition of Tahwwur Rana, India will continue its efforts to find those who have committed or conspired to enable terrorist acts.</p>

<p><strong>UP Weather Update:</strong> According to the meteorological department, Uttar Pradesh&#8217;s weather will change from 26 April, with rain and thunderstorms likely in several districts until 29 April. The meteorological department has issued warnings for the affected areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Weather to Change from 26 April</h2>



<p>In Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, cloudy skies are expected on 27 April, with a high probability of rain between 28 and 30 April. Light rain is possible in Azamgarh on 27 April, with strong winds and rain anticipated on 28 April. Ayodhya will experience cloudy skies on 26 April, with a likelihood of rainfall on 27 and 28 April. Ballia and Deoria are also under an alert for rain and strong winds on 27 and 28 April.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rain Possible in Eastern Uttar Pradesh</h2>



<p>Light to moderate rainfall, strong winds (40-60 km per hour), and thunderstorms are predicted for eastern Uttar Pradesh between 26 and 29 April. While this change in weather is expected to bring relief from the heat, caution is advised due to the adverse weather conditions.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Current Temperature Status in UP</h2>



<p>According to the meteorological department, the weather remained dry in both meteorological divisions of Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, there was no significant change in daytime temperatures across all divisions of the state. Daytime temperatures remained significantly higher than normal (+3.1°C to +5.0°C) in Varanasi (Varanasi, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur), Ayodhya (Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Amethi), and Agra (Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Mathura) divisions, and higher than normal (+1.6°C to +3.0°C) in all divisions except Kanpur (Etawah, Itawa, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat). Daytime temperatures in the Kanpur division remained normal (-1.5°C to +1.5°C). The highest maximum temperature in the state on Tuesday was recorded at 43.3°C in Varanasi (BHU).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Rainfall Warning for Northeast India</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, the meteorological department has also stated that heatwave conditions will persist in Northwest India until 29 April and in East and Central India until 26 April. Furthermore, a warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Northeast India until 27 April. A new spell of rain, along with strong winds and lightning, may begin in East India between 26 and 28 April.</p>

<p>According to the committee, the road from Agra Gate Chowraha to Agrasen Chowraha has been named Sant Shiromani Namdev Maharaj Marg; the road from St. Stephen&#8217;s Chowraha to the Jhalkari Bai memorial has been named Veerangana Jhalkari Bai Marg; the divider road between Sector B and C, from a private bank building to a hotel in Panchsheel Nagar, has been named Shaheed Major Natwar Singh Shaktawath Marg; and the road from Anasagar Police Chowki to Prem Nagar has been named Shaheed Avinash Maheshwari Marg .</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Committee Grants Approval</h2>



<p>Vasudev Devnani&#8217;s proposal was also approved in the general meeting of the Municipal Corporation. The committee, chaired by Divisional Commissioner Mahesh Chandra Sharma, also granted its approval.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Stations and Other Roads to be Renamed Soon</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that under Devnani&#8217;s instructions, King Edward Memorial has been renamed Maharishi Dayanand Vishram Griha, Hotel Khadim has been renamed Hotel Ajaymeru, Foy Sagar has been renamed Varun Sagar, and there is agreement to rename the elevated road as Ram Setu. Summer Camps Suspended During School Holidays in Raipur


<p>School Holiday: Government schools in the capital city will no longer hold summer camps during the summer break. The Raipur District Education Officer (DEO) has suspended its previously issued instructions after facing opposition to the order.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">School Holiday: Request to DEO for Cancellation</h2>



<p>Earlier, the District Education Office had issued instructions for all government schools in Raipur to hold summer classes from 1 May to 15 June during the summer break. However, the Chhattisgarh Teachers&#8217; Association strongly opposed this instruction and requested the DEO to cancel it.</p>



<p>Following this, on 21 April, the District Education Officer suspended the instructions to hold summer classes and issued an order in this regard.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Demand to be Exempted from Duties</h2>



<p>School Holiday: The Chhattisgarh Teacher Association has demanded from the Education Department that teachers in the state should not be assigned any other work or departmental duties from 1 May to 15 June, so that teachers can better perform their educational work and fulfil their family and social responsibilities.</p>

JEE Advanced 2025 Applications Starts Open: ₹3200 Fee for General Category


<p><strong>JEE Advanced Registration Starts:</strong> The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has commenced the application process for JEE Advanced 2025 from 23 April. Candidates who have successfully cleared the JEE Main 2025 examination can now register online through the official JEE Advanced website, <a href="https://jeeadv.ac.in" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jeeadv.ac.in</a>.</p>



<p>The last date for submitting applications is 2 May 2025, while the fee payment deadline is 5 May 2025.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">JEE Advanced 2025: Application Fee</h2>



<p>The application fee for general category candidates is ₹3,200. For female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the fee is ₹1,600. It is important to note that the fee once paid is neither refundable nor transferable.</p>
