
<p>The state government has approved the opening of a women&#8217;s college in Alwar city in the budget announcement 2025-26. This college has received financial approval. In the first year, the college will operate two faculties. This college will be under the Rajsesh Society. Until the availability of personnel under the society, subject matter experts will be employed on a need basis in the new college under the Vidya Sanbal model.</p>



<p>Similarly, until the availability of personnel on posts of laboratory assistants, book lifters, and class IV employees, either regularly or through the society, these posts will be filled through a private company. Meanwhile, the necessary materials for the college will be procured using the budget provision available in the Directorate of Collegiate Education in the financial year 2025-26. This includes furniture, equipment, a photocopier, and computers. The college will operate from a temporary building.</p>



<p>A sum of ₹4.50 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the college building. Until the building is constructed, permission has been granted to operate the college in a private building. It is understood that the UIT is searching for land for the women&#8217;s college.</p>

Supreme Court pulls up Rahul Gandhi, warns him over Savarkar remark: &#39;Don&#39;t repeat this&#39;


<p>The Supreme Court of India has issued a strong reprimand to Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Congress MP, over his controversial remarks about freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. The apex court adopted a firm stance, warning that irresponsible comments about India&#8217;s freedom fighters will not be tolerated. However, the court also granted Rahul Gandhi relief by staying the proceedings against him in the lower court.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Court Issues Stern Warning to Rahul</h2>



<p>The bench, headed by Justice Dipankar Datta, reprimanded Rahul Gandhi, stating, “You cannot make such statements without understanding history.” The court sternly warned, “If such comments are repeated in the future, the Supreme Court will take suo moto cognisance and hold a hearing.” The court further remarked sarcastically, “How can you say such things about those who gave us freedom? Tomorrow, you might say something about Mahatma Gandhi as well, because he called Savarkar a ‘faithful servant’?”</p>



<p>The Supreme Court also reminded that Mahatma Gandhi had shown respect to Savarkar, and Rahul Gandhi&#8217;s grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, had also written to him. Justice Dipankar Datta advised Rahul Gandhi, “You are making such statements in Maharashtra, where Veer Savarkar is revered. You should not do this. Why are you making such comments?”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Controversy Surrounding Rahul&#8217;s Statement</h2>



<p>This case stems from a controversial statement made by Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in 2022. Rahul commented that Savarkar received a pension from the British. Following this statement, lawyer Nripendra Pandey filed a complaint in a lower court in Lucknow. The lower court initially registered a case against Rahul Gandhi under sections 153(A) and 505 of the IPC and issued a summons. Rahul Gandhi challenged this summons and approached the Supreme Court.</p>



<p>The Supreme Court strongly advised Rahul Gandhi to refrain from making such irresponsible comments in the future, especially about freedom fighters whom the nation holds in high esteem. </p>

<p>India formally informed Pakistan on Thursday of its decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty with immediate effect, citing Islamabad&#8217;s violation of the treaty&#8217;s terms. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti, wrote to the Secretary of Pakistan&#8217;s Ministry of Water Resources. The letter, written by Debashree Mukherjee to Syed Ali Murtaza, Secretary, Pakistan&#8217;s Ministry of Water Resources, stated: “The Government of India has decided that the Indus Waters Treaty, 1960, will be suspended with immediate effect.”</p>



<p>The decision to suspend the decades-old treaty follows a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. India stated that cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan targeting Jammu and Kashmir directly impedes India&#8217;s rights under the Indus Waters Treaty. The 1960 treaty allocates the eastern rivers Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi to India and the western rivers Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab to Pakistan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cross-Border Terrorism Continues</h2>



<p>The letter reads: “Respectful adherence to a treaty is fundamental to its basis. However, we have witnessed continued cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan targeting the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.” The letter further states that the resulting security uncertainties have directly hampered the full exercise of India&#8217;s rights under the treaty. The letter adds: “Furthermore, in addition to other violations committed by it, Pakistan has refused to respond to India’s request to enter into consultations envisaged under the Treaty and has thus violated the Treaty.”</p>



<p>Following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India announced several strong policy measures. The Cabinet Committee on Security decided to temporarily halt the Indus Waters Treaty and suspend visa services for Pakistani citizens with immediate effect. Additionally, the number of staff at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi has been reduced from 55 to 30.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Visas Cancelled from 27 April</h2>



<p>The Ministry of External Affairs stated on Thursday that all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani citizens will be cancelled from 27 April 2025. Medical visas issued to Pakistani citizens will only be valid until 29 April 2025. All Pakistani nationals currently in the country must leave India before the revised visa expiry date. Meanwhile, Indian citizens have been strongly advised against travelling to Pakistan, and those currently in Pakistan have been advised to return home as soon as possible.</p>



<p>On Thursday, India briefed top diplomats from around 20 countries on the Pahalgam attack and India&#8217;s stance. These countries include the US, UK, Russia, the European Union, Italy, Qatar, Japan, China, Germany, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, the UAE, and Norway. Their diplomats were summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs in South Block.</p>



<p>The terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on 22 April, shocked the nation. The attack resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, including 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen, with several others injured. The terrorist group ‘The Resistance Front’, linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. The incident has once again heightened tensions in India-Pakistan relations.</p>

MP now to offer one job per family, officials told to implement


<p><strong>MP News:</strong> Finding employment is challenging for ordinary people. In response, the government plans to provide employment to at least one family member. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed officials to this effect during a review meeting of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department on Friday. He stated that the state has immense potential for development. Every sector is full of promise; work needs to be done at the grassroots level. Through MSMEs, at least one person in every family can be provided with employment or self-employment.</p>



<p>With an investment of ₹55,000 crore, 17.55 lakh registered MSME units are operating in the state, providing jobs to over 92 lakh people. There are 5,300 start-ups, with more than 2,500 led by women. Investors are being given details related to the land bank, and over 1,100 plots will be available for allotment from 1 May. Departmental minister Chaitanya Kashyap was also present at the meeting. The CM instructed the department to organise a grand event on MSME Day (27 June) in Indore, followed by another in Bhopal in September.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Open Small Units in Districts, Starting with Ratlam</strong></h2>



<p>CM Mohan Yadav said, &#8220;Rapidly expand activities according to the circumstances and capabilities of each district. Expand entrepreneurship by connecting youth with micro-industries such as oil mills, spice-flour mills, and processing units for kodo millet, kutki and other millets. Modernise agricultural produce markets. These should include facilities for safe storage of milk, vegetables, etc., starting with Ratlam.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>State Ranked 7th in MSME Development</strong></h2>



<p>Madhya Pradesh is ranked 7th in the country in MSME development. The CM said, &#8220;We have to secure a top position for the state by next year.&#8221; The year 2025 is being celebrated as the Year of Industry and Employment, therefore, Industry-Employment Day will be celebrated at two-month intervals. Powerloom units will be started. Regional-level camps will be held to improve skill enhancement and technical proficiency with the help of experts.</p>



<p>The Tech Growth Conclave organised by the Department of Science and Technology will be held at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore on 27 April. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Siemens-EDA, Tholons, Yotta, CTRLS Data Centers, Rackbank, and Netlink will participate. These companies have given their consent. The conclave will focus on the animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality industries.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>CM to Hold One-on-One Discussions</strong></h2>



<p>CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will hold one-on-one discussions with representatives of the major companies attending the conclave. In the morning, sectoral roundtables will discuss GCC, IT, ITeS, semiconductors, drones, and AVGC-XR. Discussions will focus on partnerships. In the afternoon, there will be one-on-one meetings between the CM and industrialists.</p>

<p><strong>UP Board Results:</strong> The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has declared the results for classes 10th and 12th. In the Intermediate (12th) examination, Mahak Jaiswal from Prayagraj topped with 97.20%, while in the High School (10th) examination, Yash Pratap Singh from Jalaun secured the first position.</p>

<p>According to the UP Board, a total of 2,545,815 students appeared for the High School (Class 10) examination this year, of whom 2,294,122 passed. <p>This year&#8217;s results show girls outperforming boys by 10%. A total of 27,05,017 students appeared for the 12th-grade examination this year, including 14,58,983 boys and 12,46,024 girls. The results were announced by the Director of Secondary Education, Dr. Mahendra Dev, and the UP Board Secretary, Bhagwati Singh.</p>

<p><strong>UP Weather Update:</strong> According to the meteorological department, Uttar Pradesh&#8217;s weather will change from 26 April, with rain and thunderstorms likely in several districts until 29 April. The meteorological department has issued warnings for the affected areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Weather to Change from 26 April</h2>



<p>In Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, cloudy skies are expected on 27 April, with a high probability of rain between 28 and 30 April. Light rain is possible in Azamgarh on 27 April, with strong winds and rain anticipated on 28 April. Ayodhya will experience cloudy skies on 26 April, with a likelihood of rainfall on 27 and 28 April. Ballia and Deoria are also under an alert for rain and strong winds on 27 and 28 April.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rain Possible in Eastern Uttar Pradesh</h2>



<p>Light to moderate rainfall, strong winds (40-60 km per hour), and thunderstorms are predicted for eastern Uttar Pradesh between 26 and 29 April. While this change in weather is expected to bring relief from the heat, caution is advised due to the adverse weather conditions.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Current Temperature Status in UP</h2>



<p>According to the meteorological department, the weather remained dry in both meteorological divisions of Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, there was no significant change in daytime temperatures across all divisions of the state. Daytime temperatures remained significantly higher than normal (+3.1°C to +5.0°C) in Varanasi (Varanasi, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur), Ayodhya (Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Amethi), and Agra (Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Mathura) divisions, and higher than normal (+1.6°C to +3.0°C) in all divisions except Kanpur (Etawah, Itawa, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat). Daytime temperatures in the Kanpur division remained normal (-1.5°C to +1.5°C). The highest maximum temperature in the state on Tuesday was recorded at 43.3°C in Varanasi (BHU).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Rainfall Warning for Northeast India</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, the meteorological department has also stated that heatwave conditions will persist in Northwest India until 29 April and in East and Central India until 26 April. Furthermore, a warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Northeast India until 27 April. A new spell of rain, along with strong winds and lightning, may begin in East India between 26 and 28 April.</p>


<p>UP Weather Update: Much of northern India is currently experiencing a severe heatwave. Daytime temperatures are steadily rising, causing the general public to face scorching heat and heatstroke. Ladli Behna Yojana Madhya Pradesh: 10,963 women dropped out from the scheme in Madhya Pradesh


<p><strong>Ladli Behna Yojana:</strong> A woman received ₹1250 monthly under the government&#8217;s Ladli Behna scheme until she turned 60. After crossing that age, her monthly old-age pension is ₹600. This is the story of women excluded from the Ladli Behna Yojana due to government regulations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reasons for Exclusion</h2>



<p>In the state government&#8217;s flagship Ladli Behna Yojana, 10,963 women in Chhindwara district were removed from the scheme in 2025 after turning 60. They were excluded from the ₹1250 monthly benefit. Only 392,912 women remain in the scheme.</p>



<p>In addition to women over 60 and those who relinquished benefits, the portal also shows 690 ineligible women and 646 deceased women. Furthermore, 399 women were deleted from the Samgra portal, and 505 women had their Aadhaar-Samgra linkage severed. This resulted in a decrease in the number of Ladli Bahnas. Additionally, 890 women voluntarily surrendered their benefits.</p>

Business owners believe that the consistent receipt of Ladli Behna funds for the past year and a half has increased the purchasing power of poor women. <p><strong>Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Rajasthan Royals, 42nd Match:</strong> Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 11 runs in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Thursday. This victory was powered by half-centuries from Virat Kohli (70) and Devdutt Padikkal (50), followed by impactful bowling performances from Josh Hazlewood (four wickets) and Krunal Pandya (two wickets). This win marks RCB&#8217;s sixth victory in nine matches, while RR suffered their seventh defeat in the same number of games.</p>



<p>Chasing a target of 206 runs, Rajasthan Royals&#8217; opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi put on a 52-run partnership for the first wicket. The police say that during the shooting of a song, different colours and gulal (coloured powder) were being thrown. After the shoot, Saurabh Sharma went to wash his hands in the river. There, he went into deeper water to swim and was suddenly swept away by the strong current.</p>

<p>The police further stated, “On the day Saurabh drowned in the river, it became dark and his body could not be found. Therefore, the search operation was stopped. The search operation resumed on Wednesday, but without success. On Thursday morning at 7:30 am, the police found Saurabh&#8217;s body. A case of accidental death has been filed.”</p>
